Last night I gave my first ever public talk about photography at Bishops Stortford Camera Club! There were around 25 people in the room with about 20 people on Zoom. The first 5 minutes were absolutely terrifying but eventually settled down.
Just over 2 hours they had to stop me as I’d overrun and we had to vacate the hall, I’d only got through about 80% of my material! Ha ha! It was an incredible experience for me and a big thank you to the members of BSCC for their warm and friendly welcome.
It’s odd I couldn’t make my presentation in front of my wife, way too embarrassing to do the talk in front of someone I’ve been with over 30 years but standing in front of 50 strangers wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be.
We sold some copies of my book at the end and people were very positive about the things I’d spoken about. A huge confidence booster and I’m incredibly grateful to Bishop’s Stortford Camera Club for giving me such a great opportunity. Hopefully I can do more events like it in future!
